How the Pillpress is made.
The Pillpress is made in Delft at the laser cutting company Luxigo. All wooden parts are laser cut from 6 mm thick birch plywood sheets. These boards are made up of several layers of birch wood. Birch is a light type of wood with a nice solid wood structure. The cut parts are sanded and joined by hand. The parts are connected with a pin-hole connection. Some force is required to clamp the parts firmly and snugly together. The stainless steel tray, the spring and the bolts are purchased. The green push-through plate is made of acrylic and is also laser cut from sheet material. The gray marker is cut from the staff and pressed into the green plate with great force. The joining and packaging is done by hand in a workshop in Delft.
